The City issued an RFP for a study of the economic viability of the remaining two development proposals for the library lot site. Unfortunately, the firm hired to perform that analysis did nothing of the sort. Instead, the Roxbury report expressly stated that "this report does not include and is not intended to serve as a feasibility study for the concepts included in the two proposals." Local in Ann Arbor has an article on that report.

Recently, a November report by Hospitality Advisors Valuation and Consulting was made public. The Hospitality Advisors are well regarded experts in the hotel and hospitality industry. Their report actually does evaluate the economics of a hotel conference center in our community. The study demonstrates what opponents have been saying for quite some time. The project will fail to cover the cost of the debt that will be incurred to build the project. Local in Ann Arbor has an article discussing the study.
