Prior Postings:
Is golf a neighborhood issue? We believe it is. A healthy active community requires a broad variety of publicly support recreational opportunities. Further, when the City decides to sell, lease of privatize public parks or recreational facilities, it has an impact on the public control of our land and facilities. With this in mind, the ongoing effort to turn the Huron Hills Golf Course over to a private entity under a 20 year lease with the goal of using an area currently used for 9 hole of golf for a driving range and related commercial activities is nothing less than alarming.

A group has formed in opposition to the re-purposing of Huron Hills Golf Course. To learn more, visit:  http://a2p2parks.com/

Arborweb.com (the on-line version of Ann Arbor Observer) has an article that covers the Huron Hills Golf RFP:

What You Can Do
Please help protect the Huron Hills Golf Course from being re-purposed into a private golf business. Visit the A2P2 web site and make a donation to help pay their legal costs. Please write to the Mayor and your council members and let them know you oppose the re-purposing and privatization of Huron Hills. Using our parkland for private business sets a dangerous precedent.

More
Please note the "Subpages" below, which address the RFP, the proposals submitted in response to the RFP and an email the Mayor is sending in response to citizen concerns.

Below, we have attached a copy of the letter attorney Susan Morrison sent to the City Council regarding the proposal to re-purpose Huron Hills Golf Course into a private business operation. Well worth reading.
